Bridging Barriers
In 2020, I started a charity called Bridging Barriers.
Bridging Barriers is a registered charity focused on helping young people in the UK aged 14-25 to achieve career success through mentoring. Our objective is to build the confidence, career knowledge and employability skills in our candidates by giving them access to role models who are able to equip them with the resources, tools and mindset to succeed in their field of interest.
We connect our ambitious candidates with industry professionals that work in their field of interest who provide them with robust, one-to-one support. This includes helping them to develop key soft skills such as teamwork, leadership and problem-solving as well as improving their job applications with support in areas such as CV and mock interviews, so that they are better equipped to and have a competitive advantage. Through our 1-1 personalised mentoring, we empower our candidates with the soft and hard skills needed to thrive, whilst building employment networks to strengthen access to opportunity.
We are more than just a social mobility charity. With a strong focus on intersectionality, we are
transforming the way corporations recruit young people from underrepresented backgrounds through our mentoring programme to drive sustainable systemic change by helping corporates to better understand and retain their talent.
